Everything in our world is made up of unseen energy that gives the appearance of matter. Objects that appear solid, like animals, plants, trees, droplets of rain, and stars are all composed of energy. Matter describes the physical appearance of all things, while energy represents their flowing action I like to think of water as a metaphor for energy and ice as a metaphor for the appearance of matter. Reality, as we in the modern West have come to know it, has always been centered on the “ice cubes,” but we’re beginning to take note of the “water” that makes the cubes of life appear solid.
